From Outdated to Spa-Like: The Dale Family Bathroom Remodel
When the Dale family decided it was time to remodel their bathroom, the goal wasn’t simply to give the space a new look. They wanted a bathroom that felt safer, more functional, and better suited for the years ahead—without sacrificing style.
The existing bathroom had last been updated in the early 2000s and was beginning to show its age. One of the homeowners’ biggest concerns was the flooring, which had become noticeably slippery. Updating the floor gave us an opportunity to introduce a more modern look while creating a surface that better fit their everyday needs.
Designing With the Future in Mind With This Bathroom Remodel
Another priority was removing the existing bathtub. The homeowners rarely used it, and looking toward the future, a walk-in shower made much more sense for aging in place.
A Vanity That Changes the Room In This Chambersburg Bathroom Remodel
The transformation continued with a new KCD vanity and quartz countertop. The double vanity provides plenty of storage and workspace, while two arched mirrors, updated lighting, and coordinating hardware give the room a warmer, more polished appearance.
Sometimes it isn’t one dramatic feature that makes a renovation successful—it’s how all the details work together. In this bathroom, changing the vanity, mirrors, lighting, countertops, flooring, and fixtures created an entirely different atmosphere.
For the main bathroom floor, we selected Garden State Ardozia Oxford White in a 12" × 24" format from our sister company The Floor Trader Outlet Of Chambersburg. Its light, understated appearance provides a beautiful foundation for the room while allowing the richer textures inside the shower to stand out.
A Bathroom Built for Today—and Tomorrow
The finished Dale family bathroom strikes the balance we’re always looking for: beautiful design with practical purpose. The walk-in shower addresses the homeowners’ desire to plan ahead, while the updated materials, cabinetry, quartz, lighting, and finishes make the room feel fresh and elevated today.
It’s proof that an aging-in-place renovation doesn’t have to feel clinical or utilitarian. With thoughtful design choices, accessibility and functionality can become part of a beautiful, spa-inspired space you’ll enjoy for years to come.
